An online databases
is a subscription service containing citations, full-text articles and other
information
from magazines,
newspapers, journals and other sources.
Do I have to pay to use the
online databases?
No. From home, you may use
databases that allow for remote access. Your library barcode will be
required.
Additional databases will be available to you from either the Main Library
or the Vauxhall branch.

restrictions imposed by the vendor
or publisher.
How do I access the online databases from home?
The barcode on the back of your library card will be needed to
access databases from home. Please note that
only the databases marked
with the house icon will be available from home.
Can I view or print the entire article on my computer screen?
Some articles are available in "full-text". Full text
articles are usually available in pdf or html format. For articles in
pdf format,
you will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader.
The database vendor or copyright holder may impose restrictions on
reproduction
and access to material.
Can I get access to the Star Ledger Online?
Some content from the Star Ledger and other local newspapers
is available through
Custom Newspapers. The library offers other options if
you do not find what you need. The Reference Department
has access to a more comprehensive Star Ledger database.
The article you need may also be available on microfilm.

I need information for my college assignment. Does the
library have access to scholarly journals and
other appropriate material?
Within the some online databases, you may find content that is
appropriate for your college assignment.
Your college or university may have a larger selection of material in its
online databases or in print.
How can I get an article that is not available full-text?
The library stores back issues of certain periodicals. If
you bring a citation with you,
a librarian may be able to assist. It also may be possible to request
the article from
another library. Please consult with a Reference Department
staff member for more details.
